Lightning talks are fast-paced, 5-minute presentations that are meant to be fun and informative. Since the 2016 Practitioner Workshop, lightning talks have provided a dynamic platform to highlight innovative HiAP- and HIA-related work and resources.
We want to hear about your HOW of a healthy community, your research, or real-world HiAP applications. For example, maybe you want to talk about how you have leveraged resources or relationships in a unique way, utilized outcomes from an HIA to create more lasting policy change, or share about an unexpected positive outcome from health in all policies work.
We're also interested in hearing about smaller, informal projects that might not always hit the big leagues. Lightning talks can be a venue to not only brag about your wins and successes, but it's an opportunity to share insights on lessons learned from projects that didn't quite fully take off or become sustained initiatives.
Format:
Presenters develop 15 slides, have them automatically advance every 20 seconds, and develop a narrative to deliver as the slides advance. For an example of how this works, please check out the Pecha Kucha website.
Submission process:
Submissions accepted until March 31.
Review and selection of speakers will take place and all speakers will be notified via email by Friday, April 3, 2026. The selection committee is looking for talks that are creative, engaging, and/or out of the box!
Selected speakers will join the selection committee for an online rehearsal prior to the April workshop. We look forward to receiving your lightning talk ideas. Don’t delay! Submissions will fill up fast…lightning fast!
