The Assessment phase of HIA can be the most challenging to design. In the assessment phase, the HIA team assesses baseline conditions and predicts the likelihood, severity and distribution of health impacts. In this webinar, Dr. Sandra Whitehead drew on the Minimum Elements and Practice Standards, as well as her own HIA experience, to provide attendees with a framework for setting up the assessment phase for success. Topics included: determining baseline conditions; deciding what data is needed, available and how to collect it; how to engage the community in those decisions; and how to draw on different methodologies to comprehensively predict impacts.
