Participation, Power and HIA: Strategies for Health Equity

Dr Katie Hirono, past president of SOPHIA, presented the results of her doctoral research - a comparison of participation within HIA and a form of deliberative democracy (citizen’s juries). She explained how the goals of the process sometimes matter more than the outcome, and the opportunities that exist for strengthening health equity through such approaches.  A recording of the event can be accessed here.
