Join us for SOPHIA’s 2017 Practitioner Workshop in Washington, D.C., October 2nd and 3rd!

The HIA Practitioner Workshop (formerly HIA of the Americas) presents a unique opportunity for current practitioners of Health Impact Assessment to participate in strategic field building. The workshop is uniquely structured around small working groups, with additional presentations and a keynote panel.

The objectives of this two-day workshop are to:

Build a community of HIA practitioners by offering an intimate forum to network and share ideas and tools that elevate the practice of HIA; and
Promote excellence in HIA by sharing best practices, tackling challenging HIA related issues, disseminating resources, and beginning the development of new resources for the field.

Registration & Payment
In order to confirm your participation at the workshop, you will need to click the "Register" button on the left to pay your non-refundable registration fee by September 1, 2017. Early bird registration fees are available through July 14^th.

Scholarships
Scholarships for registration fees and/or travel may become available for conference participants with the greatest need. When registering for the conference, you will be given the option to indicate whether you would like to be considered for a scholarship. We will then contact you with additional information on the availability of funding.

Workshop Location
The HIA Practitioner Workshop will be held at The Pew Charitable Trusts, 901 E Street NW Washington, D.C. 20004 which is easily accessible via public transportation from both the Reagan Washington National and Washington Dulles International airports. Participants are encouraged to book early as hotels fill up quickly and prices will likely increase in the weeks and months leading up to the workshop.
